Job summary
An education recruitment agency is seeking compassionate tutors to support young people in Medway who are out of education due to various challenges. This role involves providing personalized one-to-one tuition either in homes or communities, tailoring learning plans to help students re-engage. Ideal candidates are patient, empathetic, and experienced in working with dis-engaged learners. Responsibilities

Skills
South East/ temporary / £25 - 30 per hour

- Are you experienced working within SEND, SEMH or dis-engaged learners?
TeacherActive work in partnership with the local authority to support young people who are currently out of education for a wide variety of reasons or needs.
We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate tutor(s) within Medway and the surrounding area to support young people who are currently out of education due to a range of needs, including having an EHCP, ongoing health conditions, or having been excluded from school.
- One-to-one tuition in the young person’s home or within the local community
- Support learners to re‑engage with education through personalised learning plans
- Deliver core subject tuition (and beyond where applicable)
- Build trust and confidence in a safe, supportive learning environment
- Flexible, temporary work based on the learner’s individual needs
- Hourly pay – funded support provision
- Ongoing Tutor referrals available across Medway & Kent
- Experienced in working with SEND, SEMH, or dis-engaged learners
- Confident delivering lessons independently and adapting to varied needs
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Able to travel locally for face‑to‑face tuition
