Join our Wastewater Treatment Team as an Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician based in East Worthing, West Sussex. You will maintain and improve ICA systems across multiple sites, ensuring compliance, reliability and efficiency of control systems while supporting continuous improvement.

East Worthing, West Sussex. 38 hours per week.

• Planned, reactive and proactive maintenance including fault‑finding, calibration, testing, investigation and programming on instrumentation such as telemetry systems, flowmeters, level transmitters, pressure transducers, temperature probes, dissolved‑oxygen and other analysers.
• Maintain MCC & LVA assemblies, PLC control networks, PID controllers and dosing equipment.
• Implement complex process improvements and diagnose PLC faults on Rockwell, Mitsubishi and other package plant PLCs.
• Manage change control system, perform PLC backups and routine verification, and modify HMI & SCADA system backups.
• Set up and maintain site control networks (Ethernet, DH+, Profibus, Profinet, RS232).
• Conduct planned maintenance and calibrate instrumentation to Southern Water standards, responding to faults/alarms via the Regional Control Centre.
• Investigate instrument and process issues, identify faults and implement remedial action, calibrating against national standards such as HACCP and MCerts.
• Document accurately and timely to meet internal change control and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Implement system modifications requested by the Operational Team, conduct root‑cause analysis and apply changes as needed.
• Coach and train team members to develop their skills.

• NVQ3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a comparable time‑served apprenticeship.
• ONC or HNC in Instrumentation, Electronics, Control or equivalent.
• Excellent problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
• Experience within instrumentation, control or automation.
• Strong documentation skills for regulatory compliance reporting.
• Collaborative attitude with good communication skills.
• Full, current UK driving licence.

• Experience in a process‑oriented industry such as water utility, petrochemical, electricity or manufacturing.

• Travel across multiple sites with a company van provided and participate in a 1 in 7 week standby rota.
