This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced cover staff looking for regular classroom experience without the responsibilities of planning or marking.
Position: Cover Supervisor
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing
Pay: £100 - £130 per day (dependent on experience, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged with pre-planned work left by the class teacher.
This is a great role for those considering a future in teaching, as it allows you to build confidence, develop classroom management skills, and gain valuable experience across a range of subjects.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials to classes in the teacher's absence
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Support pupils with tasks, encouraging participation and focus
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure smooth lesson transitions
- Follow school behaviour and safeguarding policies at all times
- A degree or equivalent qualification (essential)
- Strong classroom presence and confident behaviour management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with secondary pupils
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
