Warehouse Operator

Contract Type: Temporary – Contract until the end of this year, with potential for extension and possible permanent employment

Pay: £13.49 per hour

Reporting to: Warehouse Team Lead

Closing Date: Ongoing

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:15
Friday: 07:30 – 15:00

Breaks:

  • 2 × 15-minute paid breaks per shift
  • 1 × 30-minute unpaid break per shift

Flexibility required to support additional hours during the week and at weekends when needed.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operator to support operations within the CMB Stores. This role is initially on a temporary basis until the end of the year. There is potential for extension and possible permanent employment; however, this is not guaranteed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work safely in full compliance with site Health & Safety requirements
  • Take responsibility for own safety and the safety of others
  • Adhere to Safety Systems and Site PSMS (Personnel Safety Management Systems)
  • Pick materials for issue to site
  • Store materials in racking and shelving locations
  • Load and unload materials using a forklift truck
  • Deliver materials to site via van or forklift
  • Man the warehouse service counter
  • Receive and receipt goods deliveries
  • Enter data into the Warehouse Management System (SAP) and spreadsheets
  • Dispatch materials as required
  • Participate in an on-call rota for site emergency material requests
  • Support additional hours when required to meet customer needs
  • Respond to ad hoc tasks and requests from management
Skills & Experience Required
  • Good numeracy, literacy, communication skills, and attention to detail
  • IT literacy (training provided where appropriate)
  • Forklift truck experience (training provided where appropriate)
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to take initiative while knowing when to seek guidance
