A leading aerospace and defense firm in Brighton is seeking a Facilities Operative to support the efficient functioning of their facility. The ideal candidate will manage cleaning, general maintenance, and support site improvement efforts. You will assist in maintaining the premises, including operating tools and equipment, while ensuring the site meets high standards. Responsibilities
- Assist the Facilities Manager with site improvement and equipment maintenance.
- Clean Company/Pool cars.
- Maintain external areas to a clean standard.
- Perform gardening duties including hedge and grass cutting.
- Handle repairs and maintenance jobs.
- Assist with office and building maintenance.
- Move factory and office equipment.
- Conduct occasional physical security checks.
- Escort on-site contractors.

L3Harris in Brighton are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon. Brighton designs, manufactures and tests a large portion of its release systems portfolio. This facility offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space for the development of high-performance, multi-station solutions used to launch air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions from bay, wing or fuselage stations.

- Cleaning of Company/Pool cars
- Maintaining external areas (car park etc.) to a clean and good standard
- Gardening duties: Includes hedge and grass cutting and clearance
- Repairs & Maintenance jobs (i.e. replacing door handles, putting up shelves, painting, replacing lights, etc.)
- General assistance with office and building maintenance
- Movement of factory and office equipment within the facility
- Occasional physical security checks around the facility
- Escorting on site Contractors
- Training in maintenance related disciplines.
- FLT Licence would be desirable
- Experience in the use of power and manual tools is essential
- Experience and qualifications in electrical testing and installation is desirable
This position provides a support service for the efficient and effective functioning of the facility covering a range of duties which will include cleaning, general labouring and basic maintenance to satisfy various facility requirements in a factory and office environment.
