Job description
Overview

The Trainee Information System (TIS) Data Analyst role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary, agile development team. The TIS Team develops and supports digital products and services aimed at supporting and improving Post-graduate Medical and Dental Education (PMDE) including the working lives of doctors and dentists in training as well as its supporting roles and systems. The TIS team is currently split into two product teams. This role will work closely with the administrator focussed product team, developing products, services and solutions for those who administer workforce, training and education programmes as well as its wider stakeholders. The role will be a key member of the team and you will work with colleagues from different disciplines, ranging from full-stack developers to business analysts and user researchers, and with wider data leads developing specialist expertise in PMDE related data. The multi-disciplinary nature of the team will provide the successful applicant the opportunity to explore the problem space with their product team to create well-rounded solutions and bring those solutions into fruition. TIS is a national team with hubs in London and Manchester; you can base yourself from any NHS England office across the country subject to approval.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary product team in an agile environment to continually improve, develop and iterate TIS services.
  • Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation, including the use of business information tools e.g., Tableau and SQL.
  • Identify, collect, and migrate data to and from a range of systems.
  • Manage, clean, abstract, and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data.
  • Manipulate and link different data sets.
  • Summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users.

Role details and requirements
  • You will be highly numerate and an experienced analyst familiar with using a variety of analytical, statistical, and reporting tools and techniques.
  • You will be an excellent communicator, confident in working with users, and committed to quality and continuous improvement.

  • Please note that the reason for the fixed term of this contract is due to a short-term vacancy.
