Based in Northampton, the company is seeking a Lead Engineer to join their dynamic team and support plant operations through leadership, technical expertise, and continuous improvement.

- Lead and manage the engineering team, ensuring motivation, development, and performance
- Act as the designated Responsible Person for safety, compliance, and operational standards
- Carry out electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot faults, calibrate vision systems, and support automation technologies
- Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency
- Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions
- Coordinate planned maintenance schedules and manage external contractors
- Contribute to the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures
- Support capital investment planning and supplier engagement
- Proven experience in a senior engineering or team leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical background - 17th/18th Edition certification preferred
- Hands-on experience with fault finding and repairs on electromechanical systems
- Formal engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent) desirable
- Experience with vision systems, control systems, and automation technologies
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and analytical mindset
- Automotive industry experience is a plus
