What skills and experience we're looking for

The Mathematics department at Trinity School are a passionate and collaborative team, keen to enhance the learning and outcomes of students. We are looking to improve an already strong team. We have a strong curriculum vision for Mathematics and are looking for a talented and committed professional to help implement this in the classroom.

In key stage 3 there are 6 classes in each year group and 7 classes in key stage 4, who each receive 7 maths lessons per fortnight. The GCSE exam board is Edexcel.

At KS5 our exam board is also Edexcel. We currently have two A-Level Maths classes in Year 12 and an additional Further Maths class in each year.

As a forward-thinking department with strong teacher modelling as one of its priorities, we have the capability of using interactive boards combined with mobile iPad technology, which enables us to circulate the classroom whilst modelling and also gives us a greater flexibility over specific mathematical notation and diagrams.

About You

You will be committed to the development and progress of students, able to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and you will be the sort of person who enjoys a collaborative team working style, relishes a challenge and is resilient. We are open to applications from experienced teachers and ECTs.

What the school offers its staff

Here are all the great reasons why you should consider working at Trinity:

  • We have a strong vision and values, which influences everything we do.
  • You can expect a smooth transition to working with us. Not only will you have a dedicated mentor, but an induction programme will ensure you are fully versed in every aspect of Trinity life.
  • You will have lunch with the headteacher during the first term of being with us to find out how things are going.
  • A staff well-being champion works closely with the leadership team to ensure a manageable staff workload. Your well-being is important to us, and we continuously review our practices to ensure we are working smartly while simultaneously adding value.
  • Since our first set of GCSEs in 2018, we have been above the national average every year in our P8 score (2018 +0.15, 2019 +0.21, 2022 +0.32, 2023 +0.22, 2024 +0.26).
  • We are a school that supports students to achieve academically and holistically.
  • We will prioritise your development and help you achieve your career aspirations. We have promoted several staff to middle and senior leadership positions and given others opportunities to progress in their career elsewhere.
  • Our parents are supportive, and many volunteer to help in various ways.
  • We have an incredible chaplaincy department that not only looks out for the welfare of students but also cares for our staff.
  • We occupy a state-of-the-art building and office and classrooms are well resourced.
  • There is ample on-site staff parking and designated staff workrooms.
  • Good travel links to London (35 mins by train), M25 (10 mins) and we are in the heart of rural Sevenoaks.

Come and work for us and be part of our story about changing and transforming lives.
