What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a Nursery Nurse to join our school-based nursery working with children across all phases of the EYFS.

  • The candidate must have experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage and hold a level 3 qualification.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the Room Leaders in the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • Being a key worker, supporting children's learning and development; creating personalised learning plans and leading activities. The candidate will work with individuals or groups of children, under direction adapting activities to suit the needs of early years pupils.
  • Supporting the class teacher/room leader with setting up and clearing away displays and activities, including ensuring that the materials and equipment are safe and clean;
  • Attend to children’s personal needs;
  • Support behaviour management and development alongside communication with early years pupils to encourage social, educational and physical development and acceptable behaviour;
  • To have a secure understanding of child protection and safeguarding.
  • To hold the qualification or be willing to participate in training to achieve Paediatric First Aid.
  • Contribute to observation and assessment procedures; updating children’s records and tracking progress.
  • Contribute to the development of individual development plans (such as Individual Educational Plans) for children with special educational needs;
  • Work with external agencies;
  • Supervise children at meal times;
  • To promote equal opportunities within the classroom and throughout the school.
  • To make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
