Band 2 Housekeeper on Surgical Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit (SAECU), also providing daily support to our sister ward The Emergency Surgical Unit (C22). The post holder will provide non-clinical support to the unit team carrying out tasks assigned to the individual under the supervision of Registered Nurses on SAECU and ESU. The essence of the role is to assist in maintaining as safe and clean working environment for patients and staff, to support the nutritional needs of patients by supporting the ordering of non-clinical supplies, and to ensure that stocks and supplies are kept at adequate levels within the ward environment. The post holder will have autonomy in the reporting of faults and the initiation of works as required ensuring safe and smooth running of the Ward. The post holder will attend necessary meetings, feeding back relevant information, action within own scope and share responsibilities with Senior staff to enable them to delegate to the appropriate person. Main duties of the job: Ensuring the smooth daily running of patient services like meal and drink provision, keeping stocks up to date on the ward, general housekeeping duties on the ward, maintaining appropriate storage and cleanliness of all equipment and furnishings, ordering non-clinical supplies, talking to and reassuring patients, reporting faults, clerical and admin tasks including audits each month, receiving visitors to the unit. Working for our organisation: We are a small, close knit team who triage, assess and treat emergency surgical patients across 5 different specialties. We have a keen focus on staff development and support, this is reinforced by our vision and values and well team, Band 2 Housekeeper on SAECU and ESU.
