Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor with over five decades of operational excellence, is seeking a highly capable Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The business is renowned for delivering large-scale earthworks, quarrying, highways, infrastructure and plant-supported construction projects throughout the South West and UK.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of major projects from tender through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, long-standing contractor with strong order books, modern plant resources, and a reputation for stability and professionalism.
- Manage commercial aspects of civil engineering and earthworks projects from procurement to final account
- Prepare, negotiate and agree subcontract and client valuations
- Undertake cost control, forecasting and financial reporting
- Assess, value and negotiate variations and compensation events
- Support project teams with commercial advice and risk management
- Manage subcontract procurement, payments and contract administration
- Ensure compliance with contractual and company procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS within civil engineering
- Strong expertise in NEC and / or JCT forms of contract
- Background in earthworks, infrastructure, highways, or heavy civil engineering advantageous
- Excellent numeracy, analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple live projects
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred
- Full UK driving licence
