Our client is a forward-thinking, relationship-driven commercial contractor specialising in refurbishments, retrofits and upgrades across the UK. With a strong presence in sectors such as education, healthcare, office and leisure, we deliver projects on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption. The successful candidate should be comfortable with business development. The client is looking for someone who can not only benefit the business but also help them grow and win new clients.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a highly qualified professional with extensive experience in managing electrical works. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and growing an established department, securing business, leading teams, ensuring adherence to electrical regulations, and delivering excellent customer-focused services.

The candidate should have strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to manage budgets effectively. Experience as a NICEIC Approved Contractor alongside excellent communication abilities for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

A proactive and adaptable approach is key, as is the ability to critique and improve processes for the benefit of the business. Proficiency in IT and a comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations are also required.

Skills
  • Can run a department with a proven track record.
  • Can develop and grow a department or division in all aspects of sales growth to marketing output.
  • Have a good understanding of costs I.E. SAGE or Eque2.
  • Have a good knowledge of all electrical aspects to include the following. fire Alarms, Intruder alarms, CCTV, door entry systems ETC.
  • Be able to renew the NICEIC on a yearly basic.
  • Be able to tender review projects costed by the electrical estimator.
  • Be able to bring an element of work with them from the contacts / customers they have built during their career.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership : Provide strategic direction and continuous improvement for electrical works and compliance services.
  • Compliance Oversight : Act as the NICEIC Duty Holder & QS, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Team Management : Lead and develop a high-performing team of electricians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management : Oversee the electrical works budget, ensuring financial efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Programme Delivery : Manage the electrical compliance programme, forward planning, and all associated remedial and investment works.
  • Customer Satisfaction : Monitor and improve customer satisfaction, addressing complaints and queries promptly and effectively.
  • Health and Safety : Ensure all operations comply with CDM, ACOP, and health and safety regulations.
Requirements :
  • NVQ City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition, Amendment 2 Certification (AM2), ECS / JIB Card or able to obtain an ECS / JIB card.
  • 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection, Testing and Certification.
  • SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely (desirable).
