Professor James Rowe is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Post-doctoral Research Associate to join the REAl world Dementia OUTcomes (READ-OUT) study, which addresses the Blood based Biomarkers Challenge from NIHR and Alzheimer's Research UK. The project has received £4.5m funding and aims to collect and analyze blood samples from over 3000 individuals across diverse populations in the UK.

As a Post-Doctoral Research Associate, you will lead the statistical analysis and data management for multivariate biomarkers identified using advanced biochemical assays such as SIMOA, NULISA, Mass Spectrometry, multiomics, and other platforms. You will collaborate with academic and industry partners, including facilities like the Biomarker Factory at the Dementia Research Institute.

Your responsibilities include developing research objectives for analyzing univariate and multivariate biomarker candidates for diagnosis, prognosis, and validation. You will perform longitudinal and predictive modeling considering demographics, co-morbidities, and disease variability. You will drive the project, develop research strategies, and communicate key findings to stakeholders. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinical fellows, research managers, students, and external collaborators.

Qualifications include an undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics or Statistics and a PhD in a related field. You should have strong knowledge of biostatistics, research methods, and applications. Experience with machine learning algorithms and programming skills in MATLAB, R, Bash, and Python are essential.
