Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Doctoral degree or equivalent accepted by the British Psychological Society as qualifying the person to work as a clinical psychologist.
• Registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCP)

Desirable criteria

• additional training in evidence based early years intervention

Skills and abilities

Essential criteria

• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work cope in stressful situations/ professionalism
• Plan and prioritise own caseload
• Skills in delivering and evaluating evidence based interventions with infants and their families
• Formulation skills
• Skills in risk assessment in context of parent infant mental health
• Sensitivity and ability to work with people from different backgrounds
• Accurate record keeping

Desirable criteria

• Positive approach to own CPD

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria

• Experience in assessment and therapeutic work with children and families across the age range. • Experience of work in children's early intervention services. • Experience of multidisciplinary teamwork • Experience of consulting with health care and other professionals.
• Experience of work/ knowledge of parent-infant relationships/ mental health
• Experience of multidisciplinary teamwork
