A leading healthcare provider in Greater London seeks an experienced IAPT CBT Therapist / Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for a full-time role. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations of the psychological therapy service, providing supervision and support to staff while ensuring high-quality service delivery. Applicants must hold BABCP accreditation and have significant experience in IAPT environments, particularly with complex cases. This position offers 37.5 hours per week with opportunities for continued professional development.
The successful applicant will ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality psychological therapy service to patients and stakeholders of the CNWL Talking Therapies Service and take responsibility for the day-to-day operational and clinical management and practice of psychological therapists and other staff working in the service. They will join the CNWL Westminster Senior Management Team in the delivery of excellent mental health and social care across the borough. The successful candidate will be supported by the Borough Director and SMT colleagues, IAPT Strategic Clinical and Operational Leads and will work with a strong management team within the service. The post-holder will provide expert supervision and support for experienced high intensity therapists, psychological wellbeing practitioners and trainees working within the service and contribute to provision of senior clinician cover for the service along with other senior staff within the team for duty and evening clinics. The post-holder will line manage a number of staff within the service. The post-holder will be expected to participate in extended hours clinics run by the service from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm to provide senior cover as well as offer assessments and treatments to clients at the team base and other sites as appropriate. The post holder will carry a clinical caseload and contribute to and provide highly specialist assessment, formulation and interventions to clients using a stepped care model in line with the national programme and the latest NICE guidance for psychological interventions. Postholders will have had extensive experience of working across Mental Health Services with a range of client groups with moderate as well as complex severe and enduring mental health problems. The post holder will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision and support and join other senior clinicians within the service. There are also wider links with other Talking Therapies services within CNWL Foundation Trust and the Trust-wide clinical psychology services. We have good links with and have trainees from all the Regional training courses and there would be opportunities to mentor and supervise High Intensity Trainees. The Service Westminster Talking Therapies is a long-established service with a reputation for excellence and great staff retention. We provide Low intensity and High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapies alongside a Counselling service provided by our partners, Mind. Based in the very heart of London, the service has offices in Paddington and Victoria with GP partner sites across an exciting and vibrant Borough. The Service is currently offering a combination of face-to-face and remote working (delivered either via home working or from our office base). The team consistently meets its Key Performance targets and we actively embrace innovative, creative ideas and projects to meet the ever-changing demands and dynamics of a hugely diverse local population. We are constantly seeking to improve and make our service a first-class resource for Westminster and a great place to work, with a mixture of clear operational structures, open access, and a highly skilled and fulfilled team. The service is well subscribed to and has good systems in place to manage incoming referrals and waiting lists. National and CCG targets on waiting times, patients entering treatment and recovery have been met regularly and consistently. Staff have regular clinical supervision. Training and development are emphasised, and staff well‑being and team working are given high priority. Vaccination The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users.
