Following a review of our commissioning functions across the council, we are developing a new approach focused on impactful commissioning, securing outcomes that matter, drawing upon more collaborative and joint / multidisciplinary approaches and adopting more of a people and place-based perspective.

We will achieve this through a substantial investment in commissioning that brings together four key areas of commissioning across the Council to create a more integrated approach to Health, Care, and Communities.

Walsall has significantly invested in building the commissioning team as part of its commitment to quality support to people in Walsall.

We are in the process of appointing to the management roles in the team, but have a wide range of opportunities for people to join the team based on your experience or ambition for the future.

These roles will focus on core support areas for Home Care and Residential Care. This is a key area for development and there are some exciting pilot projects that these posts will be responsible for taking forward to inform a longer term approach to how this support is delivered in Walsall.

We are looking for an experienced commissioning manager who would have a prominent role around developing and maintaining high quality support for people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health.

You will manage the development of commissioning activity in these areas in line with the recently published commissioning intentions and market position statements.
