Responsibilities
OperationalManagement and Planning
TheClinical Operations Manager will manage a range of clinical services anddeliver objectives and performance indicators. You will ensure systems are inplace to monitor and evaluate performance against service objectives andmonitor compliance with CQC standards. You will prepare and annually updateservice development plans, keep abreast of current affairs to identifypotential threats and opportunities, and develop effective communication bothwithin services and with relevant outside agencies. You will contribute to teameffectiveness by reflecting on activities and making suggestions forimprovement and service expansion, while being able to provide"on-call" support as required.
Professional Leadership
TheClinical Operations Manager will inform the strategic direction of servicedelivery consistent with local commissioning intentions. You will provide linemanagement responsibility for all components within designated services,undertaking recruitment, appraisal, disciplinary, and grievance procedures asrequired. You will direct, lead, and motivate teams to ensure high standards ofprofessionalism, efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation in service delivery.
Youwill ensure local systems are in place for coaching and mentoring, resourceplanning, standard setting, performance management, and team and individualdevelopment. You will establish effective communication mechanisms to engagestaff and staff organizations, recognizing the challenges of a dispersedworkforce. You will contribute to clinical leadership development atorganizational and strategic levels, identify training needs, and ensurecompliance with NMC/GMC requirements across all services.
Youwill ensure professional practice standards are implemented, monitored andevaluated, including clinical audits. You will be responsible for developingand implementing clinical and non-clinical policies guided by professional andclinical standards and establish effective recruitment/retention strategies toensure staff with the right skills are in the right roles.
Human Resources
TheClinical Operations Manager will monitor skill-mix and deployment of staff,develop and implement effective staff appraisal and monitoring systems, andsupport and mentor staff both as individuals and team members. You will liaisewith employees and relevant parties regarding effective systems for dispute andgrievance resolution, keep abreast of changes in employment legislation,maintain up-to-date HR documentation including employment policies, and preparereports and workforce plans for the Director of Clinical Services as required.
Involvement with Stakeholders
TheClinical Operations Manager will liaise with local key stakeholders,establishing good working relationships to ensure the service plays a full andconstructive part in shaping ideas and policy in terms of resourcedistribution.
Quality and Risk Management
TheClinical Operations Manager will proactively engage with all services to raisethe profile of quality and CQC compliance. You will be responsible for managingincidents and complaints for the service with recommendations on organizationallearning where appropriate. You will report, manage and mitigate clinicalrisks, provide advice and support to staff on quality and governance issues,undertake audits on service standards and infection control, and producereports with recommended actions. You will ensure service continuity plans arecurrent and robust, comply with company policies and procedures, and liaisewith Directors to report outcomes and performance issues.
Confidentiality
Thepost holder will sign a confidentiality agreement. Information relating tocolleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the service may only bedivulged to authorised persons in accordance with practice policies andprocedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal andsensitive data. You will comply with Information Governance (IG) requirementsand adhere to the seven Caldicott principles.

TheClinical Operations Manager will participate in annual individual performancereviews, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of personaland/or professional development.
