Senior Resource Planner

Salary - From £45,000 to £60,000 (Dependant on suitability and experience).

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

Are you a self-starter who enjoys problem solving and implementing improvements? Are you a strategic thinker with experience of introducing new ways of working in a resource management environment?

As a Senior Resource/Workforce Plann within the Business Operations (Estate and Liabilities) team, you will help create, deliver, and then maintain workforce plans that protect and further improve delivery of services, by ensuring skilled resources are available, competent, and appropriately deployed both now and into the future.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Developing and delivering new processes and ways of working that improve efficiency and provide high quality outputs.
  • Helping create, deliver and maintain workforce plans to monitor performance, track resource risks and implement improvements.
  • Coordinating and analysing functional resource deployment including forecasting, headcount and budget against targets, proactively driving resourcing decision making
  • Monitoring performance of functional resources and delivery against strategic corporate targets by analysing relevant management information such as absence, retention, diversity, demographics, etc.
  • Delivering people capability and governance data requirements for the function aligned to the company business rhythm.
  • Working with Human Resources, Recruitment Business Partners, Senior leaders and others to create resource and finance resolutions at all levels and deal with escalated resourcing issues accordingly.
  • Maintaining and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the delivery of a complete resource and financial strategy, ensuring that plans reflect changes in supply and demand data.
  • Assessing and planning future resource requirements based on known projections, impact of pipeline requirements, levels of attrition, utilisation, and efficiency drives.
  • Maintaining the monthly drumbeat of available resource and financial data for the function and report in line with function and business rhythms.
  • Analysing forecast to actual resource and financial data and provide reports at appropriate senior management meetings (and others where required).
  • Working with HR to ensure that skills/competency/succession/talent gaps are identified, documented with plans to mitigate and fed into appropriate senior management meetings.
  • Liaising with other service providers and demanders to provide the key interface on resource issues, escalating as appropriate.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • HND or equivalent qualification in resource or operations management or equivalent experience in a comparable field.
  • Knowledge of and experience in resource management.
  • Previous experience in project/change management.
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly analytical with strategic thinking.
  • Experience in resource planning tools and methodologies.

All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
