We are looking for someone to drive a 3.5 tonne van and a smaller van to make deliveries to library and museum sites as well as other sites outside the borough. Responsibilities include portering duties such as loading and unloading vehicles and moving equipment where necessary. The role also involves security duties including locking and unlocking buildings and conducting building checks as directed by Customer Services staff. You will prepare and clear meeting rooms and remain in attendance when necessary, as well as assisting staff and members of the public as required.

Great practical skills and the ability to use your initiative are essential. You should have knowledge of the Bolton area and a clean driving licence. The role requires driving a Luton Box van with a tail lift, lifting and carrying boxes of books, and moving museum artifacts. The job involves long shifts and periods of standing. You must be physically fit, able to work unsupervised, and possess excellent customer service skills, being polite, welcoming, and able to communicate easily with visitors to the Central Library and Museum building.
