Job summary
A leading resourcing firm is seeking a Chief Solutions Architect with a pre-sales focus in the Defence sector. The ideal candidate will have significant defence domain experience and the ability to shape solutions across secure IT and cyber services. This predominantly remote role involves engaging with key defence stakeholders and building versatile solution architectures. Strong pre-sales capabilities and deep domain knowledge are essential to succeed in this position.
Qualifications
- Deep defence domain exposure (Defence Digital, DE&S, STRATCOM, etc.).
- Strong pre-sales capability: discovery, shaping, solution definition.
- Broad secure IT understanding: networking, cloud, hosting, cyber, data.
Responsibilities
- Engage with Defence Digital, DE&S, MOD and industry primes.
- Run technical discovery and service design workshops.
- Shape solutions across a range of services.
Skills
Clearance: SC minimum; DV strongly preferred
Location: Predominantly Remote with occasional travel to either South / Midlands offices/customer sites.
Our client’s Defence business is scaling its digital services footprint and requires a senior pre‑sales technologist with genuine defence domain experience. You’ll partner with the BD lead, shape mission‑aligned solutions, and drive services‑led growth across secure IT, cyber, data and digital transformation programmes.
- Engage with Defence Digital, DE&S, MOD and StratCom, and industry primes where partnering on projects
- Run technical discovery, problem framing, and service design workshops
- Shape solutions across a range of services, including:
- Secure networks & hosting
- Digital workplace
- Data / AI / analytics
- Cyber security & resilience
- Managed services & ITSM/SIAM models
- Build pre‑sales artefacts: architectures, roadmaps, service definitions, high‑level designs
- Support bids and proposals with delivery and commercial teams
- Act as the technical authority during early capture
- Build credible technical trust quickly with defence stakeholders
- Deep defence domain exposure (Defence Digital, DE&S, STRATCOM, etc.)
- SC clearance (DV desirable)
- Strong pre‑sales capability: discovery, shaping, solution definition
- Broad secure IT understanding: networking, cloud, hosting, cyber, data, enterprise services
- Experience and networks within SIs/defence integrators (e.g. DXC, Leidos, Sopra, CGI, BAE, Atos etc.)
- Military background + commercial experience
- Exposure to cyber operations / defensive cyber
