Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks IR35 Status: Out

Hourly Rate: Circa £45 DOE

Contract Term: 12 months, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday

They are committed to continuous innovation in power testing.

We are seeking a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks to support two key projects focused on product and process improvements. The role involves modeling components from scratch, converting designs from 2D to 3D, and collaborating with electrical and software engineers to develop new and existing products.

1. Modeling and designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
2. Converting 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D models to enhance manufacturing efficiency
3. Designing for manufacturability and assembly (DFM & DFMA)
4. Developing comprehensive engineering drawings with modifications and improvements
5. Contributing to new product development and optimizing existing designs for efficiency and performance
6. Collaborating with electrical engineers to integrate drawings and models
