Job description

This is an on‑site, hands‑on mechanical engineering role based at our Uxbridge factory, working closely with manufacturing and testing. You will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of mechanical components, working closely with manufacturing and testing to bring products from initial concept through to production.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components for automotive chassis and suspension applications
  • Create production‑ready CAD models, tooling and drawings (we use Autodesk Fusion)
  • Own products through the full development cycle (concept, design, prototyping, testing, and release to manufacture)
  • Apply real‑world understanding of vehicles, chassis systems, and component interfaces
  • Support hands‑on development, fitting, and problem‑solving where required
  • Incorporate feedback from manufacturing, testing, and real‑world use into designs
Manufacturing & CNC Awareness
  • Design components suitable for in‑house CNC machining
  • Understand machining processes, tolerances, tooling constraints, and finishes
  • Work closely with machinists to optimise designs for efficient manufacture
Project Management & Organisation
  • Manage multiple development projects concurrently
  • Use internal tools such as Trello to plan, track, and report project progress
  • Maintain clear documentation and ensure designs are released in a controlled and organised manner
  • This is a technical, design‑led role, with project ownership rather than formal people management.
