Job summary
A construction sector engineering company in Hucknall is seeking a Workshop Maintenance Operative to maintain and repair fabrication tools and equipment. Responsibilities include fault finding, basic electrical work, and liaising with staff for repair needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, confidently perform electrical tasks, and work independently in a dynamic workshop environment. This full-time position offers a pay rate of up to £14.50 per hour.
Qualifications

- Confident carrying out basic electrical work.

- Experience fault finding and resolving mechanical issues.

An engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of products for the construction sector. They are looking to recruit a Workshop Maintenance Operative to support the repair and upkeep of equipment used within the fabrication environment.
This is a hands‑on workshop‑based role focused on maintaining and repairing fabrication tools and equipment. Duties include:
- Fault finding and repairing fabrication equipment such as welding torches, grinders and general fabrication tools
- Carrying out basic electrical tasks, including changing plug sockets
- Working with wiring as required
- Liaising with shop floor staff to identify repair requirements
- Heavy lifting and physical work within the workshop
- Manual handling carried out in a safe manner
- Working from own initiative to complete tasks
