Solicitor with proven experience in
civil litigation and a strong working knowledge of
financial mis-selling claims, particularly involving PCP/car finance commission.
Position Overview:The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive legal team at the firm’s head office in Manchester. The role will involve managing a full caseload of financial mis-selling matters and litigated claims, from initial instruction through to resolution, including court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:Handling financial mis-selling claims, particularly those involving PCP/car finance commissionManaging files through all stages of litigation, including pre-action, pleadings, disclosure, witness evidence, and trial preparationPreparing and submitting complaints and claims to FCA members, brokers, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), and Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)Drafting legal documents including statements of case, witness statements, and trial bundlesInstructing and liaising with CounselMaintaining accurate client records using the firm’s case management systemsProviding ad hoc training and support to junior team members and paralegalsCandidate Requirements:Essential:Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)Experience in civil litigation and handling financial mis-selling claimsStrong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and/or consumer credit/financial mis-selling legislationDemonstrated ability to manage a litigated caseload efficientlyExcellent drafting, communication, and organisational skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyHigh level of IT proficiency, including Adobe, Word, and ExcelStrong interpersonal skills with a professional and approachable mannerTime management skills with the ability to prioritise effectivelyDesirable:Experience in group litigation or omnibus claimsFamiliarity with the FCA’s current position on car finance commission claimsPrior experience in training or mentoring junior legal staffWhat’s on Offer:Competitive salary of up to £50,000 DOEModern, city centre office - SpinningfieldsSupportive and professional working environmentOngoing training and development opportunitiesClear career progression pathways
