Remote Interim Capital Accountant job

Interim Capital Accountant

Location: South West England (Role is 100% remote)

Duration: ASAP until August 2025

Rate: Up to £450 per day

About Us: Hays are working with a local government organisation in the South West, committed to delivering high-quality services to our community. We are currently seeking an experienced Interim Capital Accountant to join our clients team on a remote basis, working 5 days per week.

Role Overview: As an Interim Capital Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting our financial operations, particularly focusing on capital accounting and audit requirements. This position is fully remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with officers to prepare and deliver 2024/25 year-end capital accounting and audit requirements, including working papers.
• Review current processes and procedures with officers, updating and amending as necessary.
• Assist with the implementation of IFRS16 as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in capital accounting, preferably within a local government or public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS16 and its implementation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
