As Account Director, your primary focus will be on driving new business growth and expanding the company’s footprint across the UK retail market. You will combine a strong commercial mindset with a consultative, solution-led approach, developing long‑term partnerships with major retailers and brand owners, while identifying and converting new opportunities into strategic accounts.
- Lead new business development initiatives across major UK retailers, identifying, targeting, and converting new opportunities for reusable and returnable packaging solutions.
- Develop multi-level relationships with key retail stakeholders, from sustainability leads to procurement and operations teams.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, sustainability, and supply chain teams to create bespoke, value‑adding packaging solutions.
- Manage existing accounts to ensure satisfaction and identify growth opportunities through innovation and service excellence.
- Develop and execute account and territory plans that align with the company’s long-term commercial and sustainability goals.
- Oversee tender processes, contract negotiations, and complex solution rollouts.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, positioning the business as a leading innovator in circular packaging systems.
- Report on sales performance, pipeline development, and growth forecasts, contributing to regional and global strategy.
- Proven track record in new business development and solution-based B2B sales, ideally within packaging, retail supply chain, or reusable systems.
- Strong network and experience selling into major UK retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, M&S, ASDA, H&M, Primark, or similar.
- Commercially strategic, entrepreneurial, and confident in identifying and capitalising on new market opportunities.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with senior retail and procurement stakeholders.
- Strong communicator, capable of translating complex technical solutions into clear commercial value.
