Job Description

The Digital Content Officer will be responsible for ensuring content is up to date, engages with key audiences and effectively communicates the organisation’s key aims, including education, welfare and generating funds.
Responsibilities
- To produce engaging, search engine optimised content for the Cats Protection website that meets the organisation’s key aims and provides optimum user experience
- To proactively ensure website content is relevant and up to date, in line with strategy and current priorities, and effectively aimed at key target audiences
- To lead and advise on cross-platform digital campaigns and digital content projects, working with colleagues at all levels across the organisation
- To use Google Analytics 4 to analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of existing content. Interpreting the results to provide reporting to teams and departments across the organisation and managing the process to improve the effectiveness of the digital content
- To keep up to date with the latest trends in digital content creation, analytical tools and software
- Using web writing skills combined with SEO knowledge and understanding of the digital landscape to produce effective content that promotes cat welfare messaging and raises awareness of the brand
- To lead on and advise colleagues on web best practice to ensure consistency of image and content across digital channels, ensuring compliance with house style, branding and web standards
- To attend team and departmental meetings and Cats Protection events when necessary
In common with all posts, ensure compliance with Cats Protection’s policies and procedures, statutory obligations and best practice, and to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Chief Executive. This job description may be subject to review in the light of the developing organisation and in consultation with the post holder.
Role Requirements
Experience:
- Significant experience in writing SEO focused content for a digital audience
- Experience of using a CMS (Content Management System) to upload content
- Experience in working with Google Analytics 4 or similar
- Microsoft Office packages
Skills and attributes:
- Proven ability to write specialist SEO website content for a range of differing audiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
- Proven ability to work with internal departments and external suppliers
- Adobe photoshop editing skills
- Ability to deliver to deadlines
- Client/customer focused approach
- Positive attitude and ability to work as a team member and under own initiative
- Flexible and adaptable
Knowledge and qualifications:
- Degree in related subject or equivalent
- Good knowledge of digital content best practice and writing for SEO
- Knowledge of web accessibility and usability standards
- Working knowledge of HTML and basic CSS
