An innovative online school is seeking a Remote Teacher of Primary Mathematics for part-time or full-time work. Set challenging teaching and learning objectives based on knowledge of the students, theirpast/current achievement, the expected standards for students of the relevant ages, and therange/contentofworkrelevantto students.
Usetheseobjectivestoplanlessonsandsequencesoflessonsinadvance,showinghowthey
willassessstudents'learning,differentiatingbetweenstudents'varyingneeds.
Select and prepare resources, including ICT, and plan for their safe and effectiveorganisation as well as marking and giving regular feedback and intervention to students.
Work with department colleagues to develop schemes of work, teaching methodologies andresources.
Usemonitoringandassessmentinformationtoevaluateandextendstudents'achievement.
Give frequent andconstructive feedback to support students as they learn, followingdepartment policies on marking both classwork and online homework, and relating this tonationalstandardswhereappropriate.
Managestudentswhofailtocomplete/hand inwork,accordingtoschoolpolicies.
Identifyandsupportmoreablestudents,thoseworkingbelowexpectationsorfailingtoachieve their potential, and those with emotional/behavioural/social difficulties.
Record students' progress and achievements systematically, using this to help studentsreviewtheirown progressandinformparentsofstudents'achievementatParents'meetings,ongradecardsandinReportsor references.
Discuss with students their views about their own progress and strengths/weaknesses, usingsubject performanceprofiles,soastosettargetsforfutureimprovement.
Apurposeful,disciplinedlearningenvironment,wherestudentsfeelsecureandconfident.
Highexpectationsofstudents'academicbehaviour,cleardisciplinarystructuresfollowing
theCodeofConduct,andthepromotionofself-controlandindependence.
