Are you a skilled Lead DevOps Engineer with a passion for Identity and Access Management (IAM) and a strong background in product delivery? Do you want to make a measurable impact in reducing cyber risk across the Home Office by supporting the evolution of its IAM platform?

We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the development and delivery of our strategic product roadmap for the IAM platform (SailPoint)-alongside other supporting systems that bolster our cyber defence posture.

Your Role: Building, Leading, Delivering

As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of new functionality, tools, and monitoring solutions that enhance the IAM platform's reach and capabilities. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless delivery of services that directly reduce the risk of internal cyber threats.

This role combines technical leadership, CI/CD oversight, and strategic platform engineering-with a strong focus on modern DevOps practices and secure service delivery.

What You'll Do

• Deliver against a clearly defined product roadmap for the IAM platform

• Lead the design, build, and implementation of secure DevOps products and services

• Introduce new monitoring capabilities and support tools for enhanced reporting and security

• Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and secure deployments

• Support engineering teams in discovery, service topology, and QA pipeline definition

• Identify and mitigate delivery risks, ensuring platform resilience and security best practices

• Drive adoption of new tools and methods across technical teams

• Maintain alignment with accessibility, GDS service standards, and community practices

• Ensure new products are seamlessly transitioned into live service

What You'll Bring

• Active SC Clearance (mandatory)

• Proven experience leading DevOps initiatives and delivering technical product roadmaps

• Hands-on experience with IAM platforms (SailPoint highly desirable)

• Skilled in platform development and support, including base container hardening

• Strong Agile experience and familiarity with Agile ways of working

• Excellent understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps tooling

• Demonstrable experience in reducing cyber risk through secure systems delivery

• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and advise on delivery strategy and design constraints
