Remote Protection & Control Engineer for Substation Projects
Job summary
A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to support major substation projects. This role is fully remote with occasional travel and involves reviewing protection schemes, leading design efforts, and ensuring operational standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in substation protection engineering, knowledge of relay systems, and familiarity with SCADA and automation systems. The contract is fixed-term for 24 months.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in substation protection & control engineering.
- Knowledge of relay protection systems and settings.
- Ability to support commissioning and testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Review existing substation protection schemes and incorporate them into updated designs.
- Lead protection design for capital projects and define relay protection functions and schemes.
- Conduct constructability reviews to ensure adequate protection and automation coverage.
