A specialist legal recruitment firm is seeking a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to provide legal support for a Local Authority on a remote basis. The ideal candidate should be a qualified solicitor or barrister with strong commercial contracts experience. Responsibilities include drafting contracts and delivering legal advice. This role offers competitive pay at up to £60 per hour for 15 hours per week. Initial contract for 3 months with potential for extension.
Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with strong commercial contracts experience.
- Strong drafting and advisory skills with recent experience in contracts and procurement.
- Previous local government experience desirable but not essential.

- Advise on and draft a variety of commercial contracts, including building contracts, grant agreements and JCTs.
- Provide support on procurement-related matters.
- Deliver clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders.

Venn Group’s specialist legal team is currently working with a Local Authority to recruit a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to support a busy and collaborative legal team.
The Role:
- Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
- Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
- Duration: Initial 3 months with the likelihood of extension
- Location: Remote working, with initial office attendance required to collect equipment
- Hours: 15 hours per week
- Advise on and draft a variety of commercial contracts, including building contracts, grant agreements and JCTs
- Provide support on procurement-related matters
- Deliver clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with strong commercial contracts experience
