Job summary
A leading recruitment agency in the UK seeks a qualified lawyer to provide legal support for equity derivatives products. The role requires extensive PQE and familiarity with regulatory frameworks. You'll collaborate with multiple teams, manage legal risk, and deliver training on compliance. This position is crucial for maintaining legal standards and enhancing stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Extensive knowledge of equity derivatives products.
- Experience in private practice or in-house at a major financial institution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in supporting innovative equity derivatives products and proprietary indices by providing comprehensive legal advice and guidance to business units.
- Work collaboratively with senior management and cross-functional teams to ensure robust compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, while proactively managing legal risk.
- Provide expert legal advice and support to the Markets division on all matters related to equity derivatives products.
- Draft, review, and update template legal documentation for the Markets division, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current regulatory standards.
- Deliver engaging training programmes to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to the Markets business units.
- Represent the Legal department in litigation, arbitration, or regulatory investigations involving the Markets business units as required.
What you\'ll need to be successful:
- Qualified lawyer admitted in England & Wales, New York or a Commonwealth jurisdiction with significant post-qualification experience (5+ PQE).
- Extensive knowledge of equity derivatives products or proprietary indices as well as familiarity with EU/UK Benchmark Regulation.
- Demonstrated experience gained either in private practice or as part of an in-house finance legal team within a major financial institution.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing equity derivatives markets including recent developments affecting compliance obligations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build trusting relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Experience advising senior leadership teams on risk mitigation strategies aligned with broader organisational objectives.
