We are recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for private businesses with revenues of £2–50 m in the NE, CA, DL, DH, SR and TS postcodes, based in Newcastle, Durham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland. This role is ideal for a top‑quality CFO/Finance Director seeking flexibility, life balance, and the chance to help clients reach their growth goals.
- Provide CFO services to private businesses, supporting owners to climb their “Everest”.
- Build and manage a portfolio of client engagements, working autonomously yet supported by an international network of CFOs.
- Partner with your Regional Director and a team of CFO/FDs in a highly collegiate environment, delivering financial strategy, commercial finance, and business strategy advice.
- Act as part CFO, part advisor, part strategist, and part trusted friend, nurturing long‑lasting client relationships.
- Contribute to the growth of the CFO Centre, a leading provider of part‑time Finance Director and CFO services for mid‑size businesses.
- Qualified from a UK chartered accounting institute (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, etc.).
- Significant real‑life CFO/Finance Director experience (multiple roles or several years of service).
- Strong understanding of commercial finance, business strategy and a track record of delivering results.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills and a “can‑do” attitude.
- Self‑starter who thrives on autonomy and the challenge of growing a client portfolio.
