Job summary

A leading HR consultancy is seeking a Senior HR Advisor located in North Yorkshire for a 12-month FTC role. This hybrid position requires strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience in a unionised environment. Responsibilities include advising management, coaching HR team members, and managing employee relations, ensuring high-quality HR service delivery. Ideal candidates will have a CIPD Level 5 qualification and a full UK driver’s licence. Competitive salary ranges from £40,000 to £45,000.

Qualifications

Senior HR Advisor

Location: North Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Type: 12 months FTC / Hybrid

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees across multiple sites on all HR policies, practices and procedures.
  • Work with managers and stakeholders to provide advice and support with all people related issues – including managing complex disciplinary, grievance, performance, policy and pensions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and impending legislation and case law, identifying and addressing any impact on policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and professional development to HR Advisors.
  • Support on HR projects – restructuring, systems, reward & benefits, health and wellbeing.
  • Monitor employee absenteeism and report monthly.
  • Deliver a high-quality service and act as a trusted HR Advisor while building credible stakeholder relationships.
  • Analyse data and service level agreements, identifying gaps and suggesting improvements.
  • Coaching and development for managers, fostering a high performing culture.
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
  • Manage relationship with trade unions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards.
  • Proven experience as an HR Advisor, ideally gained in a unionised environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and managing complex ER cases.
  • Experience supporting change projects, redundancy, restructure would be ideal.
  • Strong experience of building relationships and managing stakeholder.
  • Full UK driver’s licence – occasional travel to other sites.
