Job title: Senior HR Advisor

Salary: 40,000

Hours: Full time, 37 hrs/week

Contract: Permanent

About the Business

A successful, privately owned organisation operating within the Facilities sector is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join its growing team. The company employs 45 staff, supported by a dedicated network of subcontractors, with all operations managed from its Epsom head office.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the HR Advisor will be responsible for delivering expert guidance across HR policies, procedures, and UK employment law.

You will support managers with:

  • Complex employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, absence)
  • End‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding
  • Performance management and development
  • HR policy application and compliance
  • GDPR and employment law requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment & Onboarding – Manage the full end‑to‑end recruitment process, liaise with agencies, use online platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Talent Solutions), prepare job descriptions, coordinate interviews, and lead induction.
  • Employee Relations – Act as a confidential point of contact, advise on ER matters, support investigations and hearings, and work with external consultants where necessary.
  • Performance Management – Coach managers through performance issues, support appraisals, help set KPIs and development plans.
  • Policy & Compliance – Apply HR policies fairly and consistently, ensuring alignment with current employment legislation.
  • HR Systems & Reporting – Maintain HR data via the external provider’s platform, produce people metrics, and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Wellbeing & Engagement – Support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
About You
  • Ideally CIPD‑qualified or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an HR Advisory role
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law
  • Excellent communication, coaching and problem‑solving skills
  • Confident with HR systems and MS Office
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Able to build trust and work collaboratively across teams
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism

You’ll also be flexible, able to step outside the standard job remit when needed, support colleagues during absences, and provide practical HR solutions in operational or technical environments.
