A mechanical engineering company in Eastbourne is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to perform installations and repairs primarily within the water utilities sector. The role requires a full mechanical apprenticeship, excellent communication skills, and adherence to health and safety protocols. Competitive pay rate of £19–£23 per hour with additional benefits including a van and fuel card, 25 days annual leave, and training opportunities.

- Experience in the water industry is preferred.
- Must have completed a mechanical apprenticeship or possess equivalent qualifications.
- CSCS Card is mandatory.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations is required.
- A full UK Driving Licence is necessary.

- Understand and follow design drawings in 2D/3D.
- Perform mechanical installations and repairs including pumps and gearboxes.
- Keep sites clean and tidy.

Formation
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of a bespoke electrical and mechanical engineering company who manage the complete mechanical engineering process including design, manufacture and commissioning. They mainly work within Water Utilities.
Operating over 35 years, they are a family owned organisation who have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service.
They have a client base which boasts some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. Mainly working within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries they provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation.
The Fitter will hold a technical role within the company and should set examples of excellent conduct and professionalism. For individual projects, they will report to the assigned Project Manager.
This is a permanent position, covering Eastbourne, Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm. The pay rate is £19 – £23 per hour depending on experience. Perks include Van & Fuel Card, private use of van, door to door travel, overtime, discretionary bonuses, pension, wellness plan, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, training & development.

- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
