As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an English Teacher at The Greater Horseshoe School, part of Acorn Education.

To provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and standards set by the Regulatory Body.

• Plan, deliver, and teach individual students or small groups according to the School’s Curriculum framework and policies.
• Monitor, record, and report on student progress.
• Contribute to and help implement developments related to the School Development Plan.
• Promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational, and moral development of students.
• Develop and implement an environment and learning program for individual students to ensure appropriate progression.
• Coordinate teaching, development, assessment, recording, and reporting across key stages as agreed with the Head Teacher.
• Devise, implement, and review individual education and behavior plans with staff collaboration.
• Organize classroom resources, student groupings, and displays to create a stimulating learning environment.
• Plan to ensure student safety on and off-site, adhering to risk assessments.
• Brief Learning Support Assistants, Tutors, Instructors, and care staff as necessary.

The Greater Horseshoe School is an independent special school for pupils aged 8 to 18, located in a peaceful woodland setting near Newton Abbot in Devon. Our facilities include a nearby care farm offering animal care, horticulture, and outdoor educational activities alongside academic and vocational programs.
