Job summary
A leading food production company in Rosherville is seeking a motivated Hygiene Operative to support the night hygiene team. You will ensure the highest levels of hygiene for food production, manage cleaning procedures, and oversee staff training. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. The position offers a competitive salary of £32,550.00 per annum, night shift allowances, and benefits including career progression and social events.

Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Hygiene Supervisor when necessary.
- Manage the team for effective hygiene practices.
- Conduct scheduled cleaning tasks and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Deep clean production areas and handle cleaning chemicals.
Skills
A dedicated and motivated person to operate as a Hygiene Operative whilst assisting in the daily supervision of the night hygiene team at the Ruskington site. The role provides essential support to the Hygiene Supervisor, ensuring the highest levels of production and food hygiene are maintained for food production equipment and the overall environment.
Shift Pattern: 4‑on, 4‑off (night shift 6:30 pm – 6:30 am)
- Deputise for the Hygiene Supervisor when necessary by managing the team to deliver efficient and effective hygiene of the environment, ensuring cleaning procedures are conducted to the prescribed frequency and methodology.
- Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks using cleaning equipment, chemicals and sanitisers.
- Ensure staff are adequately trained and competent in both cleaning and health and safety methodologies.
- Load all orders for dispatch whilst adhering to timescales and company policies, rules and procedures.
- Support the Hygiene Supervisor to drive, implement change and improve hygiene efficiency and effectiveness within the team, factory environment and share good practice with the opposite shift.
- Review hygiene activities regularly and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
- Accountable for staff training, development and safety within the department.
- Work safely by following specific cleaning instructions regarding Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements for individual tasks.
- Ensure the hygiene plan is adhered to and attained; highlight any areas of concern to the Supervisor.
- Deep clean production areas, handling and dilution of cleaning chemicals.
- Dismantle and assemble factory machinery to ensure an effective hygiene clean has taken place.
- Report any engineering issues that need attention as part of machinery strip downs or hygiene machinery issues.
- Experience in food industry hygiene operations.
- Experience of leading a team and monitoring performance against standards.
- CosHH trained desirable but training can be given.
- Able to work to time pressures.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Attitude to follow instructions, written and verbal.
