Job description

As a Factory Operator, you will drive operational excellence by operating machinery with optimal safety and efficiency. This dynamic position combines hands‑on equipment operation with a "Non-Core Champion Role" that integrates functional requirements with operational needs. You'll be instrumental in maintaining performance standards while leading continuous improvement initiatives across all Business Work System (BWS) activities, serving as a role model for your colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment according to best practices while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Take ownership of daily performance metrics in your operational area, contributing to factory targets for operational excellence, SKU adherence, waste minimization, and quality standards
  • Lead Business Work System activities and take responsibility for team performance, providing exemplary behavior in attitude, contribution, and collaboration
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks to enhance efficiency during product and size changeovers within your designated team
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping and hygiene standards throughout the site
  • Serve as the primary liaison between operations teams and sponsoring functions, coordinating activities to support achievement of functional targets
  • Provide specific support and guidance for the development of team members on equipment operation and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Direct manufacturing operational experience in a fast‑paced consumer goods environment
  • Demonstrated skills in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) theory and application while operating machinery
  • Working knowledge of SAP systems and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication and team facilitation skills with the ability to motivate others
  • Sound understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental processes and their practical application
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and first‑line engineering/lubrication procedures
  • Relevant qualifications including NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent), Basic Hygiene Certificate, and HACCP Systems knowledge
