A leading procurement organization in Shrewsbury is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage the procurement of electro-mechanical parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will need at least 2 years of experience in procurement and strong communication skills. This full-time position offers regular working hours from Monday to Friday. - Experience in electro-mechanical purchasing is essential.

- Execute daily procurement activities efficiently.
- Source competitive quotes and evaluate supplier options.
- Monitor delivery schedules and ensure material quality.
- Resolve pricing and delivery issue efficiently.
- Track deliveries to prevent production delays.
- Manage procurement documentation for traceability.

Orion are looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Buyer who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and remains calm under pressure.
As Buyer you will be working part of a team with responsibility for buying a range of electro‑mechanical parts for production, this will include metal work electronics through to electrical items.
- Execute daily procurement activities with speed and accuracy to keep production lines running.
- Sources competitive quotes, evaluates supplier options, and raises purchase orders promptly.
- Monitors delivery schedules to prevent downtime and ensures materials meet strict quality and specification standards.
- Quickly resolves issues related to pricing, delivery delays, or product non‑conformance to maintain workflow continuity.
- Tracks and expedites deliveries, proactively following up with suppliers to avoid production delays.
- Organizes and manages procurement documentation, including purchase orders and project files, ensuring full traceability.
- 2 years' experience in procurement or purchasing within an engineering and manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems
- Electro‑mechanical purchasing experience
- High attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure
Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:30
