Job Description:

We are looking for a wide range of High Speed Digital Electronics Engineers at various levels to join Leonardo in Edinburgh.

As a Digital Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing high-speed digital Printed Circuit Boards that utilise the latest FPGA, Microprocessor, and high-speed interconnect technologies
• Supporting the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis, design, and unit testing to system integration, acceptance testing, and delivery
• Documenting work products, managing configurations, and providing plans and progress reports
• Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to solve real integration problems on complex systems
• Analyzing system requirements and their application to hardware designs
• Schematic capture
• Designing high-speed serial communication links and understanding related protocols and architectures
• Hardware, Firmware, and Software integration of Microprocessor-based designs onto hardware platforms
• Following a structured hardware design process throughout the lifecycle
• Debugging, testing, verifying, and supporting the commissioning of new designs
• Communicating with suppliers of key components and assemblies
• Effective communication across disciplines, both verbally and in writing
• Working independently or as part of a team to resolve technical issues
• Managing work schedules to meet project timescales and budgets
