We are looking for a wide range of High Speed Digital Electronics Engineers at various levels to join Leonardo in Edinburgh.
As a Digital Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Designing high-speed digital Printed Circuit Boards that utilise the latest FPGA, Microprocessor, and high-speed interconnect technologies
- Supporting the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis, design, and unit testing to system integration, acceptance testing, and delivery
- Documenting work products, managing configurations, and providing plans and progress reports
- Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to solve real integration problems on complex systems
- Analyzing system requirements and their application to hardware designs
- Schematic capture
- Designing high-speed serial communication links and understanding related protocols and architectures
- Hardware, Firmware, and Software integration of Microprocessor-based designs onto hardware platforms
- Following a structured hardware design process throughout the lifecycle
- Debugging, testing, verifying, and supporting the commissioning of new designs
- Communicating with suppliers of key components and assemblies
- Effective communication across disciplines, both verbally and in writing
- Working independently or as part of a team to resolve technical issues
- Managing work schedules to meet project timescales and budgets
