A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Metallurgical Laboratory Technician for an office-based role in South Yorkshire. The position involves ensuring adherence to safety and calibration standards, alongside supporting staff and preparing technical reports. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and have a minimum of 5 years' laboratory experience. Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential, with experience in microscopy and mechanical testing being beneficial. The role offers salary negotiable within the £30,000-£40,000 range, with potential for visa sponsorship.
Formación
- Degree level qualification in Metallurgy, Materials Science or similar is essential.
- Proven experience of working in a laboratory environment for 5+ years.
- Fluent in written and spoken English with technical report writing skills.
Responsabilidades
- Ensure all work adheres to instructions and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate all necessary laboratory equipment.
- Carry out testing and prepare accurate reports for stakeholders.

- Ensuring that all work is carried out according to instructions
- Ensuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered to
- Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated as required
- Ensuring that all reports are accurate and succinct, delivering all required information to stakeholders
- Carrying out testing and report writing as required as part of the team
- Recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure availability of skills
- Providing reports to the SLT on activity levels, costs etc
- A Degree level qualification is essential. This MUST be in Metallurgy, Materials Science or very similar
- Post-graduate certifications (Masters, MSc, Meng, PhD) are most welcome
- Proven experience of working in a laboratory environment, ideally for 5 + years
- Experience of microscopy, mechanical testing, corrosion, surface finish, heat treatment etc
- Fluent written and spoken English including the ability to write complex technical reports in a clear and concise manner
- Experience of specifying laboratory equipment is beneficial
