? About the Practice

Situated in the vibrant seaside town of Southport, our modern and well-equipped practice provides a full range of general and cosmetic dental services, as well as advanced treatments including endodontics, orthodontics, facial aesthetics, and soon, oral surgery with our in-house dentist due to specialise.

We are a mixed practice, currently offering 70% private and 30% NHS treatments. We are proud of our loyal patient base, excellent local reputation, and collaborative, people-first working culture.

? Role Overview Working Days: Monday to Thursday
Hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm
No evenings, weekends, or out-of-hours required

This is a full-time role across 4 days per week,which can increase to 5 later in the year.

? Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Dental Nurse in our team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of patient care, assisting our dentists and specialists with a wide range of procedures and ensuring our patients feel relaxed, informed, and comfortable throughout their visits.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with general dentistry, endodontics, short-term orthodontics, and facial aesthetics
Supporting complex treatment setups and surgical procedures as we expand into oral surgery
Maintaining clinical cleanliness and cross-infection control in line with CQC and HTM 01-05 guidelines
Preparing treatment rooms ahead of appointments and ensuring all equipment is correctly sterilised and in place
Updating patient records, medical histories, and clinical notes via our digital system (Dentally)
Covering reception duties when needed, including booking appointments, taking payments, and greeting patients
Providing reassurance, clear communication, and excellent chairside manner to all patients
Ensuring smooth running of day-to-day operations within the practice by working closely with the dental team and admin staffThis is a role for someone who’s ready to “get stuck in”. We are not looking for someone with a particular specialism, but rather someone who can adapt, remain calm under pressure, and work effectively in a variety of situations.

About You – Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who brings both professional competence and a positive, team-oriented attitude. You’ll be friendly, confident, and approachable, with a strong focus on patient care and attention to detail.

Essential:

GDC registered – fully qualified Dental Nurse
Previous experience in both clinical and receptionist duties in a dental setting
Excellent communication skills with a good command of spoken and written English
Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and a flexible approach
Comfortable using dental software and managing digital records
Able to work independently while being a team playerDesirable:

Experience using Dentally software
Confidence assisting with a variety of treatments, including surgical and cosmetic procedures
Familiarity with both NHS and private patient workflowsThis role would suit a reliable all-rounder who enjoys the variety of a mixed practice, isn’t afraid of a challenge, and wants to feel like a key part of a practice that’s going places.
