Job summary
A leading manufacturing firm in Northern Ireland is seeking a Production Planner to join their team. In this role, you will provide production planning support, liaise closely with various departments, and ensure the optimization of production capacity. Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in production planning and strong skills in ERP and Excel. - Provide a strong production planning support function to all areas.

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing business on the appointment of a Production Planner on a full-time basis. Our client is a major manufacturer of heavy machinery with a strong reputation in their industry and are looking for career-driven individuals who wants to learn and develop in their next position.
As the Production Planner, you will report to the Planning Manager and will liaise closely with colleagues in procurement, engineering and production to effectively plan and schedule work in accordance with the sales demand to support the business strategy.

In your new role:
- Provide a strong production planning support function to all areas ensuring continuity and efficiency of production, highlighting any potential issues that will affect the completion dates of Aftermarket orders
- Ensure that all orders are planned effectively to optimise production capacity and material availability.
- Liaise with all departments within the Supply function, making sure all work is scheduled on the ERP system in an efficient and timely manner.
- Maintaining the production schedule is a priority ensuring that any risks and deviations to plan are quickly identified to allow any/all remedial actions to be taken.
- Identify and implement process improvements that lead to a smoother streamlined work flow.
What you will need to succeed:
- 1 year's experience in a production planning/administration position
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Strong analytic skills with ERP and Excel knowledge
- Experience in heavy manufacturing (advantageous)
