As part of Workplace Services, the Facilities Assistant is a pivotal role in supporting the operational delivery of multiple managed buildings, sites, and central stores.
The areas covered have an extensive range of users and provide, for example, facilities for lectures, meetings, and events, as well as a wide variety of office accommodation. This role is part of the operational team that supports the operational delivery of excellent customer service for all users. This role must adhere to best practice in housekeeping and health and safety compliance.
The Facilities Assistant reports to the Facilities Manager/Site Supervisor on operational considerations that affect maintenance of the building, health and safety compliance, property contracts for the third-party operators, and operational staffing.
The role ensures that there is professional, smooth, and joined-up service delivery across all sites and buildings.
The role holder works closely with the AV Team, Stores Assistants, Receptionists, and Reprographics team as required on projects that cross the different disciplines. The role is responsible for soft facilities operations, maintenance of the buildings, and dealing with the operational requests from the third-party occupiers while working with our building maintenance teams for reactive and planned maintenance.
The role-holder is responsible for carrying out health & safety compliance, ensuring daily duties are completed, and buildings and sites are operating efficiently and effectively.
