Company: A leading tier 1 building main contractor, operating on a regional basis. This employer is a very stable company with long-term project frameworks and a diverse range of projects including public and private sector. They already have a 70% plus secure order book for 2026, offering great job security and long-term local work. Previous experience on public sector projects (Education, Health, MOJ, etc.) would be ideal but not essential.
Role: Open to candidates at both Design Manager and Senior Design Manager levels. The role involves managing design-related issues across multiple sectors during preconstruction and construction stages. Responsibilities include appointing and managing consultants, monitoring detailed design production, and managing the design review process. Experience in managing the design process, identifying solutions, risks, and opportunities to support business delivery and securing new work is essential. The role is responsible for all design activities in conjunction with the development team and transition to delivery teams, managing consultants and subcontractors, and working with commercial teams on appointments.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Building Sector
- Previous employment as a Design Coordinator, D&B Coordinator, D&B Manager, or Design Manager
- Experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartments, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education, or Healthcare
- Previous employment with a Main Contractor
- High communication skills
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC, etc.)
