CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler Design Manager to join our Commercial & Institutional - Fire Protection Services Team at our Birmingham, AL office.

CHA Fire Protection Services offers highly specialized fire protection engineering services and cutting-edge solutions to the most challenging fire protection projects. Our knowledgeable staff manages complex industrial, commercial and design/build fire protection projects, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, ground storage tanks, underground piping, and special hazards.

The Fire Sprinkler Design Manager, an important technical leadership role at CHA, leads an effective and productive team of technical professionals. A Fire Sprinkler Design Manager's success is measured by their team's technical quality, achieving team utilization targets, engaging, and motivating their team to go above and beyond, and effective management of project budgets. The professional in this role organizes, directs, and coordinates activities associated with the project scope of work either individually or collectively with their team.

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred
• NICET Level I Certification required; Level II preferred
• Valid drivers' license required
• Minimum of 7 years of fire sprinkler design experience required
• Proficient with discipline-based software (AutoCAD, HydraCAD, etc.)
• Previous project or team management experience preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audience
• Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrates a strong ability in design drawing layout
• Ability to lead and mentor more junior staff
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Some travel may be required (~10-15% of the time)
• Technically astute and strategic in thinking to manage the activity within the team
• An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups
• A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader
• Ability to resolve matters timely and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency
• Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company

$86,400 - $111,780

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
