Job description

At On the Beach we are on the lookout for people who are ambitious, keen to learn, want to have fun, are smart and above all bold enough to try new things. As a Travel Agency Coordinator, you will assist the development of our new brand to ensure Classic Package Holidays is a successful and profitable business.

You will ensure all incoming contacts/enquiries from travel agencies are handled in an efficient and timely manner whilst meeting or exceeding all agreed departmental targets for customer service and sales. We need energetic people from all backgrounds who can provide top-class customer service, who can learn quickly and are interested in developing their career in the holiday business. We want you to have fun and show positivity while demonstrating flexibility to the needs of our clients and the business. We trust you to take ownership of the travel agencies and ensure they receive the very best attention possible.

The hours are full time (37.5 hours per week) working shifts typically between the hours of 8am – 8pm Monday – Saturday and 9am – 8pm Sunday. The position has a starting salary up to £19,000 depending on experience + £2 commission per booking. This role is based in Cheadle near Stockport.

What will the role entail?
  1. Taking enquiries from a range of Travel Agents from across the UK and converting them into bookings.
  2. Achieving and exceeding company, team and individual objectives relating to sales targets, productivity, product knowledge and attendance/punctuality.
  3. Build and maintain a strong business relationship with Classic Collection Holidays and On the Beach employees.
  4. Building and maintaining great relationships with travel agents and industry partners.
  5. Effectively and efficiently handle any administrational and operational queries.
  6. Maintain accurate information on the company’s products, commercial campaigns and ancillary services.
  7. To exceed the travel agents’ expectations and go the extra mile wherever possible.
  8. Ensure bookings that are made are fully realised and booked whilst taking commercial responsibility for the profitability of the booking.
  9. Communicating and escalating operational issues and process improvements to the management team.
  10. Managing post travel feedback and customer service by dealing with any complaints in a calm and diplomatic manner.
Essential Experience & Skills
  1. Previous experience of working with travel agents and/or tour operators is highly preferred.
  2. Commercial awareness within the travel industry.
  3. Self-driven and results oriented with a positive outlook.
  4. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  5. Strong computer and administration skills.
  6. Excellent attention to detail.
  7. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
