Job summary
An educational institution in Epsom and Ewell is seeking a Catering Technician to support the teaching team and maintain catering areas. Responsibilities
- Support existing staff with preparation and maintenance for practical sessions.
- Follow health and hygiene protocols.
- Receive deliveries and assist in service during occasional evenings.
- Supervise and support work experience students.
Skills
37.5 hours per week / 36 weeks per year
Work pattern: Rota based hours between 8am – 8pm (applicants must be able to commit to a mix of day and some early evening work on occasion)
- Experience of working within a professional catering environment
- Experience as a Catering Technician, ideally in an education environment
- Flexible approach to work
- Ability to work independently and in our small team
- Tidy and able to organise and prioritise tasks
- Support our existing Technician, Chef-Lecturers and our Practical Instructors, with the preparation, and maintenance of these areas for practical demonstrations and cookery sessions
- Adherence to department cleaning protocols and health & hygiene processes and procedures
- Taking receipt of deliveries,
- Support of the teaching team during service in the restaurant on occasional evenings.
- May also be responsible for supervising and supporting work experience students
