Job summary
A bespoke furniture manufacturer based in Cornwall is looking for an experienced Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker. This role involves producing high-quality cabinetry across a range of bespoke projects, requiring a strong understanding of material handling and joinery. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in solid wood and panel processing with proficiency in various woodworking machinery. Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Self-Employed.
Salary: Up To £19 Per Hour, Depending on Experience.
Location: Par, Cornwall PL24.
They are a high end fitted furniture manufacturer looking to expand their team. They specialise in bespoke projects covering every room of the house. The majority of their products are in a painted, veneer, or solid wood finish. Their customers are discerning and come to us for a premium quality product, produced in Cornwall, and the standard of our work is high.
You will be responsible for producing high-quality components and cabinetry across a range of bespoke projects. The work spans painted, veneered and solid timber furniture, so a strong understanding of material handling and precise joinery is essential. This role offers the opportunity to work on premium, design-led projects within a skilled and supportive workshop team, where attention to detail and craftsmanship are genuinely valued.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience and confidence working across both solid wood and panel processing.
- Training will be provided on their specific machinery and workshop processes, but a solid foundation in the following areas is essential:
- Table saw operation
- Planer / thicknesser
- Timber grading and selection
- Spindle moulder operation
- Shaker door construction
- In-frame door construction
- Cabinet assembly
- CNC operation
- Edgebanding
- Resaw
- Wood turning
- CAD drawing
- Competitive pay, dependent on skillset and working hours
